PR Profile: Joanne Hollinshead
Reason for joining PR?
I’d been running socially with friends and really enjoyed it. I wanted to be able to run further with ease.
How long have you been at PR?
October 2019 I think. I arrived on my own and never looked back. I’m a Wednesday only girl.
What do you enjoy most about PR?
Aside from the fact that it puts me out of my comfort zone every Wednesday, it’s the people. We are a proper, like minded, supportive community
What is your best achievement since joining PR?
A half marathon at RunFestRun in August this year. I had never had a burning desire to do one, then I was in the right place, right time with a bucketful of PR self-belief plus confidence of a great running friend.
What is your Favourite session?
Hard to say. I never know what to expect and am never disappointed. If I had to choose: Indian file or a relay.
What is your Favourite meal?
Fish, seafood and for a real treat with my daughter, oysters.
What is your Favourite drink?
No hesitation – a Friday night G&T
What is your Favourite holiday destination?
Abersoch, North Wales. It’s like a second home. Full of happy family memories.
What is your Favourite song or artist?
For the present, it’s got to be Dakota or Mr Brightside. Songs that my friends and I sing out loud (and in my case badly). However, with friends from school still a big part of my life, I’m an 80’s girl at heart. Maybe Tainted Love or most of The Human League.
What famous person past or present would you like to meet and why?
Possibly Elvis, though my lovely friend Sally Day and I might need to share the evening.
