Penkridge Runners 10th Year Anniversary Celebration & Awards Night
Invitations ONLY for a night of celebration as Penkridge Runners marks a decade of community, fitness and friendship. We are thrilled to invite members to our 10th Year Anniversary Celebration and Awards Night, a special evening to honour our journey together.

Venue: Chase Golf Club, Penkridge
The evening will kick off with a warm welcome as we reflect on ten years of running, we’ll also take the time to recognise the outstanding achievements of our members with a variety of awards. Whether you’ve been with us from the start or joined us along the way, every runner has contributed to the spirit of our club.
Once the awards have been handed out we will enjoy a delicious buffet to fuel the night ahead. The festivities will continue with live music, setting the perfect mood for a night of dancing and celebration. Our DJ will keep the disco going until the early hours, so bring your dancing shoes and be ready to celebrate in style!
Following the success of our inaugural 10K event for Penkridge runners, we are thrilled to announce that next year’s event will take place in 2025. We are currently finalising the details, and entry information will be available soon. The route proved to be a great course for attaining personal bests, making it an ideal challenge for both seasoned runners and newcomers alike. Keep an eye out for updates, as we look forward to welcoming even more participants to join us for this exciting event.

Penkridge Runners is honoured to be the winners of “Community Project of the year” category at the 2024 West Midlands Volunteer Awards, thanks to Jessica Curtiss (a primary run leader for Penkridge Runners) for the nomination.
Before joining Penkridge Runners, I had a very sporadic and uncommitted relationship with running, tending to book one or two races a year, training half-heartedly for those, and then getting utterly fed up with the whole exhausting business, retreating back to the comfort of the sofa for another 6 months. By 2016, feeling like I’d listened to every podcast and exhausted all the music in the world, I was ready to hang up my trainers permanently.
Warming up before a run is essential for every runner, and cooling down afterwards is equally important. Additionally, having an effective running style is crucial for preventing injury and sustaining longer sessions. In this post, we will provide exercises to help you prepare for your run, optimise your running style, and recover afterwards.
